Democrats should give rivals a chance

Democrats should give rivals a chance

After reading about Abhisit, Korn, the Democrat Party, and now the PAD statements and actions, I cannot help wondering what our dear leaders are trying to do - drive Thailand forward, remain in neutral or go backwards?

Abhisit’s latest is calling for the reconsideration of the appointment of Nalinee. Dear handsome and former PM, what about your appointments of the Transport, Interior and Commerce ministers?
You knew those were the biggest portfolios with the highest corruption and yet you turned a blind eye to them.
Did you reconsider giving the Army and Anupong billions of baht for the blimps and bonuses before he retired to sustain your administration?
Korn’s latest is still calling on getting rid of anything Toxin. Dear highly Oxford-educated Dr Korn, were your Thai Khemkaeng financial packages not based on Toxin’s populist policies?
Did the Thai Khemkaeng packages achieve anything significant besides being pocketed at least 30 per cent by those in your administration? I still dare you to try getting rid of the OTOP project, my dear Dr Korn.
And now the PAD is calling for another coup citing the monarchy. Leave the monarchy out of politics, my Dear Rich Sondhi, and you should go away, retired General Chamlong.
Can your PAD come up with better reasons to topple the present government without going through what you put the country through? Us Thais are really sick and tired of your cliches and lame (or lack of) logic.
Do you not think you destroyed the country enough by shutting down the airports and “having fun” partying? Do you not think it is better to educate people about the democratic process instead of forcing people to accept your self-serving ideas?
Dear Rich Sondhi, we knew your then dear friend Toxin did not help you and left you in ruins during the 1997 financial crisis and you have been going all out in any way to get back at him.
My dear Abhisit, Korn, Chamlong and Sondhi, you had your chances. Do you not think it is time to let us Thais determine our own fate – to go forward or backward, to be happy or suffer? Just let the democratic process take its course.
No, I do not care about Toxin, but I have to admit some of his ideas were very good for us Thais, especially the poor ones (OTOP Dr Korn?).
Oh yes, I am a die-hard registered Democrat from down South near former Abhisit’s master, the former PM Chuan.
