China shows interest in Thailand's infrastructure/agriculture
China's sovereign wealth fund is ready to participate in Thailand's infrastructure investment as well as pour investment in the agricultural sector.
Jin Liqun, the supervising chairman of China Investment Corporation, said during the meeting with Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on March 12 that the fund wishes that it could help propel Thailand's economic growth and exports.
According to www.thaigov.go.th, Liqun expressed his confidence that the government would make progress in flood-management measures. He admitted that China was highly concerned with the disaster in the first place.
In return, Yingluck thanked China for the interest in long-term investment in Thailand, which would help enhance the Kingdom's economic competitiveness. She also assured China that Thailand is fully open to foreign investment.
