Mobile phone operators monitor networks
All three major mobile phone users are prepared for heightened traffic following the tsunami alert warning in southern provinces.
Advanced Info Service has dispatched a team of engineers to the South and ensured the backup system is ready. In a statement, the company said that should electricity be cut off, generators at base stations should keep the services on for at least 10 hours.
AIS also urged all mobile phone users to make only necessary phone calls.
Total Access Communication also has its engineers closely monitor the situation, following higher traffic.
At True Move, network checks are underway.
