Thailand wins the third gold medal in gold

Wheelchair fencer Saysunee Jana bagged another gold medal for Thailand from women individual Epee-Category B.

Saysunee sailed through the first round with 4-1 record before beating Marta Makowska from Poland in quarter finals 15-5.

In semi finals round, she defeated Yui Chong Chan from Hong Kong who had defeated her in the same round four years ago in the Beijing Olympic Games. This time Saysunee turned the tables on her rival, beating her 15-14 to go on to the final round to meet Simone Briese-Baetke from Germany.
The Thai fencer and Briese-Baetke met in the first round. The Thai contended was defeated but at the finals she beat Briese-Baetke 15-8, grabbing the gold medal for Thailand.
The Thai winner, now 38, was left paralyzed in a motorbike crash at age 17. 
This year's London Paralympics is Saysunee's third Paralympics. She won a gold and a bronze in 2004 in Athens, and a bronze four years later in Beijing.
Thailand has now won three gold medals, one silver and one bronze, and ranks 28th among 164 countries.
