GM lab 'results' look scary, but will Thai government act?

GM lab 'results' look scary, but will Thai government act?

Russia has just banned all GM corn imports, and the EU may also ban Monsanto GMO in the wake of shocking cancer findings coming out of a French laboratory.

The study was done in secret, as only the owners of the patented insecticide-containing seeds are “permitted’ to study them. The difference in the French study compared to the ones done by the seed owners was that the French scientists took their experimental rats to their full life-span of two years. The studies done by the seed companies, which assure us that their GMOs, that is, corn, are safe, stopped their studies less than halfway through the animals’ life-span.
While there is some criticism of the statistical methods, the breed of rat used, etc, in the French study, the fact remains that seed companies cut their studies short to get a “safe” result, and that the long-term, full-life French studies did show massive cancers and organ damage. The photos of the dissected rats are quite shocking.
In view of these disturbing
findings, would the Thai Public Health Ministry care to comment to The Nation’s readers, who
after all are the public, and wish
to enjoy good health under this ministry’s expert guidance, as to whether there will be any GMO warning, banning of GMOs or even finally, honest labelling of GMOs?
