Thai lighting producer expands into Asean

Degree Lighting Store is expanding its lifestyle lighting distribution business into Laos and Vietnam, after the opening of one outlet in Myanmar in December and four in Thailand earlier this year.

Sirin Lertvorapreecha, managing director, said that the expansion would cash in on the integration under the Asean Economic Community. The outlet in Yangon, next to the Thai Embassy, is opened to attract local consumers as well as foreigners who are flocking into the country.
Since last year, the company has invested Bt300 million to open 4 outlets in Khon Kaen, Phuket and Bangkok (Ngamwongwan and Phromphong roads). Sirin estimated that Thailand's lifestyle lighting market is valued at about Bt1 billion.
Producing tailor-made lighting products for hotels and resorts and other clients for over 20 years, the company opened the flagship stores which feature its own products and imported ones. It also provides consultanting service on lighting.
"From our extensive experience, we can quote competitive price. Our target is to become the top brand," Sirin said.
