Tak, Boonchai and mum tell all

Tak, Boonchai and mum tell all

Thanks to the dogged efforts of TV host Vuthithorn "Woody" militachinda, we now have the complete story about the talk-of-the-town lovebirds - millionaire Boonchai Benjarongkul and actress Bongkot "Tak" Kongmalai.

Woody has been on the story since the beginning. He talked with Boonchai before the couple got engaged. And now, for a “Woody Talk” episode airing this Sunday, he has managed to corral Boonchai, his future bride and her mother Thanapa “Lek” Cheepnurat.
As with the first interview, they met at the Museum of Contemporary Art, a place built by Boonchai’s charitable efforts. It’s also where Boonchai took Tak for their first date.
Things have changed a lot since the couple’s engagement was announced.
“It happened so fast. I am still trying to adjust,” says Tak.
As for the prospective groom, he jokes that he feels young again.
He’s also finding new ways to avoid the paparazzi.
“There were times I hid myself behind a tree when I wanted to fetch her,” he says.
But, after much hesitation from all three of them, it was Tak’s mother who had the biggest revelation, saying she has always known that Boonchai is good and loyal.
How can she know that?
It turns out that her future son-in-law once dated one of her friends and she learned about him through her friend. So the public must once and for all stop doubting why Tak’s mother has put her stamp of approval on the man who will marry her daughter.
Tak took the opportunity to defend her mother.
“I was very upset that there was a rumour that Khun Boonchai bought my mum a Toyota Alphard,” Tak said, adding that her mother is not overwhelmed by Boonchai’s wealth but by his goodness.
A kind heart, Tak emphasised, is the most important attribute she seeks in a man – not wealth.
“A rich man once wanted to be with me, but only wanted me as his mistress. I scolded him,” Tak said.
With Boonchai, Tak feels humbled.
“I fear that I may not be good enough for him.”
Tune in to Modernine on Sunday at 10.30pm to hear more of this feel-good love story.
