Cow or not, he's got his friends

Cow or not, he's got his friends

Channel 3 chief Pravit Maleenont says he'll stand by news-talk-show host Sorrayuth Suthassanajinda unless and until a court decides he's actually guilty of embezzling Bt139 million in MCOT advertising funds, as has been alleged

Pravit good-naturedly told reporters at a recent party at the TV station, though, to stop hinting that he’s protecting Sorrayuth because he’s Channel 3’s cash cow. “Let’s me correct this: I’ve been supportive of him for 10 years!” He was half-joking, but it’s estimated that the chat-show host brings in between Bt1 billion and Bt1.5 billion a year for BEC World, which runs the station. That’s about 10 per cent of the channel’s overall income – just from one guy.
Added team support came a few days later when comedian Somchai “Kohtee” Onlamai, who appears on a morning news show with Sorrayuth, told Thai Rath that he’ll stick by the famous host through thick and thin. “There’s no contract signed, but I’ll probably stay with him until he fires me.” (More joking, we think.)
“Phi Yuth told me I didn’t need to read the news in an academic style – I could just be myself.”

Personal trainer

Much of the credit for DJ-TV host-actress Panisa “Opal” Pimpru staying ageless apparently belongs to her boyfriend, Smith “Oak” Arayasakul, who’s a dermatologist as well as a singer. It’s the dermatology part that’s helped her most.
Oak has studied up on anti-ageing techniques and believes in the benefits of natural foods. And he tells Lips magazine that he’s helped Opal adopt a healthier lifestyle. “She enjoys eating but tends to gain weight quickly. She starts putting on weight and then struggles to reduce. It was going around in circles, and she never liked working out either.”
So Oak convinced her to change her eating habits and led by example. “For the past five years I’ve kept in good health by eating right, resting right and exercising.”
The good news (probably) is that Opal “is now totally addicted to Pilates”.
