New year's hijinks with Selena

New year's hijinks with Selena

The new year is a time of hellos and goodbyes for Adidas' youth fashion label Neo, which bids farewell to it global style icon and guest designer, singer Justin Bieber, and greets its new face, actress-singer Selena Gomez.

News of the changing of the guard at Neo comes as the 18-year-old Bieber and the 20-year-old Gomez ended their on-off relationship of two years after a heated argument during New Year’s celebrations in Mexico.
So it’s definitely a fresh start for Gomez, who kicks off her three-year stint working with Neo to design and develop seasonal fashion lines, starting with this year’s autumn-winter collection.
“Hijinks” was the key word as Neo launched its campaign with Gomez last week in Los Angeles, with bright green paint, posters and streamers spread across the city.
Fans can watch the Disney star “high jinxing” around LA on www.facebook.com/adidasneolabel and enter a competition to meet her at a fashion event in New York next month. Just view her “high-jinks” movie and answer five questions about it over the next two weeks for a chance to win the all-expenses-paid trip for two.

Inked up with Diesel
After teaming up with Marvel Comics to produce two superhero-inspired limited-edition colognes, “Only the Brave Captain America” and “Only the Brave Iron Man”, Diesel dips into another kind of ink for a tattoo-inspired cologne, “Only the Brave Tattoo”.
Designed for ultra-masculine men, the fragrance has a crisp top note of granny smith apple, followed hints of aromatic sage and bourbon pepper. The base notes feature amber wood, benzoin, tobacco and patchouli. It comes in a black bottle shaped like a clenched fist.
Mister Cartoon, the tattoo artist who has scrawled on such stars as Eminem, Justin Timberlake and Beyonce, designed the cologne’s label, bringing together all the emblematic elements of his style – bright white letters, a clown and angel’s wings.

Crocodile shock
Casio makes its G-Shock watch line even tougher but also more elegant with the latest addition to its collection, the DW-6900 Crocodile.
Imprinted with a subtly luxurious crocodile-skin texture, the watches come in black, khaki and white, all with gold metallic buttons and accents. Features include the trademark shock resistance, 200-metre water resistance, backlight, flash alert, multi-function alarm, 1/100th second stopwatch and countdown timer.
Check them out at G-Shock watch counters in department stores.
