Beauty contest reveals ugly side

Beauty contest reveals ugly side

The lovely ladies in this year's Miss Thailand World pageant won't have Nawat Issarakraisin winking at them

BEC-Tero has yanked him off the Channel 3 special after five years.
“I have no hard feelings, really,” Nawat said when buttonholed by the press. “BEC-Tero gave me the chance and they wanted it back, so I’m okay with it. I just feel attached to it, because I did it for such a long time.”
So what did he do, pull a fix? No way, he said, and that can be thoroughly checked too. “I would never get away with that even if I did try!”
And the job goes to whom? Reporters told Nawat that rumour is betting on former Channel 7 heavyweight Surang Prempree. Didn’t know that and no comment, Nawat said.
Instead, the ousted host made a modest parting request – that Channel 3’s producers consider hiring some of the pageant’s winners. “I understand that every TV series has its regular cast members,” he said, “but all our beauty queens are talented and I’d love for them to be given opportunities.”

KTC, not KFC

KTC chief executive and president Rathian Srimongkol is a healthy and energetic 53. It helps, of course, that he used to be a physician.
The banker tells Praew magazine that he does cardio exercise and lifts weights every day. Perhaps even more importantly, he spends a lot of time shooting the breeze with friends at a coffee shop. “Stress is the No 1 killer,” he says. “Everyone needs to relax.”
Rathian dines out each evening but is careful what he eats and, to whisk off a bit more of the fat, he gets a Hula hoop orbiting around his waistline for 15 or 30 minutes a day.
Collagen cream for the skin and 15 minutes a day of meditation also factor into his fitness regime, but anyone can stay healthy and good-looking, Rathian insists (starting to sound a little crazy here), if they just do a good job at work.
