No argument over these Reds

No argument over these Reds

It had all the makings of an April Fool's joke.

It had all the makings of an April Fool’s joke. Liverpool Football Club proclaimed on Twitter on the first day of the month that Thai fans should keep an eye on @ThaiLFC because an important announcement was coming up.
It was no joke – the announcement was a stunner: The Liverpool squad is coming to Thailand on July 28 during its pre-season tour. They’ll play a match against a Thai contingent and do some community work, with full coverage on the official website, on Twitter and in Thai on its local Facebook page.
This will be the Reds’ fourth visit to Thailand but the first since 2009. They have a massive following here, of course – the team has counted 14 million fans. Many of them are members of the official Thailand Supporters Club, whose chairman Duke Bhornlerts tells LiverpoolFC.com that this will be a “premier” chance to see them in action without having to travel all the way to their home turf at Anfield.
Duke says activities are being planned around the visit, since members of the Thai club will have the same special access as they did in 2009. “Once we’ve been informed what the schedule looks like, we can begin coordinating with the supporters, partners and sponsors.”
Duke predicts that the visitors will feel like the home side at the friendly match in the offing at Rajamangala Stadium, since “everyone will be cheering for Liverpool!” He foresees an electrifying atmosphere at the game, with the fans raising the roof like they do at Anfield.
Among the local Kop – Liverpool fans – likely to be screaming loudest are many celebrities. Channel 7 sportscaster Nina Sutita has tweeted that she’s really looking forward to it. The list extends to actors Nattawut Skidjai, Saksith Tangthong and Sornram Thepitak, comedian Jaroenporn “Kohtee” Onlamai, singer Pongsith Kampee, Big Ass drummer Kajorndej “Kob” Promraksa, and other TV personalities like Sorrayuth Suthassanajinda, Teera Tanyapaibul, Kitti Singhapat, Kitikorn Udomphol and Rybena “Nana” Intachai.
In other words, Thai show business will be put on hold that day.
