	The dispute involves a plot of land in Dekkhinathiri township in Nay Pyi Taw, 350 kilometres north of Yangon, that was part of a settlement area the government granted to 38 senior party members to entice them to end their struggle, the Myanmar Times reported.</div>

	The son of one of the deceased party leaders has built a shop on a site designated for a library, despite objections from the 37 other families living in the neighbourhood.</div>

	&ldquo;We returned to the legal fold in 1957. The same year we were given the plots. We plan to demonstrate because someone is trying to grab land that belongs to all 38 BCP members,&rdquo; former party leader Captain Bala Sein, 91, said.</div>

	The 390-square-metre plot is currently worth 300 million kyat (about Bt9.9 million) thanks to soaring property prices in Nay Pyi Taw, the capital since 2006.</div>

Former comrades in land squabble

Former comrades of the defunct Burma Communist Party and their offspring are squabbling over the use of property granted to them 55 years ago, media reports said on Sunday.
