Dusit makes its mark on China with DusitD2 Binhu

DusitD2 Binhu in Changzhou marks the first step in strengthening Thailand-based Dusit International's presence in the mainland. The hotel had a soft opening today.

This hotel is also the first property to be launched by Dusit Fudu Hotels and Resorts, a hotel-management joint venture between Dusit International and China-based Changzhou Qiao Yu Group.
Overlooking the West Taihu Lake and conveniently located in the Wujin Hi-Tech Industrial Zone, the hotel aims to win high-end business and leisure travellers to the vibrant city.
“We are proud to present DusitD2 Binhu, the first of many properties to come under the Dusit Fudu Hotels and Resorts management company,” Chen Li Bin, the joint venture’s chairman, said. “We look forward to developing Dusit brands here and bringing the gracious hospitality it is synonymous with to the Chinese market.”
The management firm, which is scheduled to open its head office later this month, expects to operate at least 30 properties throughout China within the next three years, focussing on mid-tier and deluxe properties. Its major shareholders include Dusit International, Changzhou Qiao Yu Group and noted hospitality veteran Giovanni Angelini, former CEO of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.
Dusit D2 Binhu, built to look like a gem, offers floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the adjacent lake from 35sqm to 150sqm guest rooms.
The hotel is equipped to hold small and large meetings, and is only 30 minutes from the Changzhou Benniu Airport and Railway Station, 15 minutes from downtown Wujin and conveniently accessible to and from various expressways. Local areas of interest range from the ancient archaeological ruins of Chunqiu Yancheng to the digital amusement park World of Joyland.
