Chicken wings offer hip help

Chicken wings offer hip help

Backed by Citibank, "Hip Dining Hip Sharing" at the Greyhound Cafe sends Bt16 from every payment through the bank for deep-fried chicken wings to the Ramathibodi Foundation, which helps underprivileged people get medical care.

There was “hip drawing” too when illustrator Wisut Ponnimit sketched the guests at the campaign’s recent launch at the Greyhound Cafe of Siam Centre, where managing director Pornsiri Rojmetha explained, “We’ve been in business for 16 years, so we will donate Bt16 from our best-selling dish.”
Associate Professor Thanya Subhadrabandhu, deputy dean for services at the Ramathibodi Foundation expressed his delight at seeing the private sector pool efforts to create activities that help society. Ramathibodi Hospital, despite constant development, still can’t meet growing demand in terms of space, facilities and equipment, he said.
“The hospital is over 44 years old and not in very good condition,” Thanya acknowledged. “Through an activity like this, the hospital can get more funds so that the services can be improved to facilitate patients better and more safely. Medical equipment will be purchased to improve treatment, giving the underprivileged a chance to safeguard their health.”
