Zipping up for luxury

Turkish Airlines treats its business class passengers to luxury amenity kits, designed by the world famous brand, Porsche Design, in cooperation with the universally recognised Italian skincare niche brand Acca Kappa.

The cases will contain a variety of cosmetics from the world famous Acca Kappa “Green Mandarin” line, as well as other items designed for the comfort and convenience of Business Class, long-haul passengers. Featuring a clever inner compartment to help organise the owner’s items, the product is a practical, durable and rigid case suitable for multiple, long-term uses for passengers after their flight.
 
Toasting the vintners
Winemakers along Germany's Southern Wine Route, known in German as Suedliche Weinstrasse, invite visitors to look over their shoulders as they handle the autumn harvest. Tourists can sign up for a wine-growing tour every Wednesday until the beginning of October. A tour through the vineyards in Albersweiler is available every Thursday until the end of October, including a wine tasting and vintner’s snack, according to regional tourist officials. Security tightened in Myanmar
Myanmar has tightened security measures to prevent terrorists attacks on foreign tourists visiting the country, especially in popular sites, according to police. Rumours of possible terrorist attacks and recent riots have required Myanmar’s police force to beef up security measures for visitors. 
“Our force still doesn't cover the whole country, but effective security measures have been taken in areas where most tourists visit,” noted Police Colonel Myo Min Oo of the Tourist Police Department. 
Local police departments across the country are also leading activities such as engaging in public talks to ensure tourist security. – Eleven Media/ANN
 
Prayers for the dead
Berlin's dead are almost as fascinating to tourists as the live population. The Friedenauer Kuenstlerfriedhof (Artists' cemetery of Friedenau) will be offering guided tours on September 29 and November 24. Film diva Marlene Dietrich and photograph Helmut Newton are both buried there, according to the Berlin Historic Cemetery Interest Group (IGHF). Myanmar to join reciprocal visa scheme
Myanmar will sign reciprocal visa exemptions with Asean countries next year, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During a parliamentary session recently, deputy minister Tin Oo Lwin said that Myanmar and Laos signed a reciprocal 14-day visa exemption for ordinary passport holders in 2006 and added that the government will try to sign visa exemptions with the other Asean countries in the next fiscal year. Myanmar has signed an agreement with Cambodia, Indonesia, and Philippines in June to develop a smart visa system  in the region. Yearning for Yogyakarta
SilkAir is to launch direct flight between Singapore and Yogyakarta, Indonesia, from November 25, increasing its Indonesian network to 12 destinations. The three flights weekly will operate on Monday, Friday and Sunday with Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft featuring both Business and Economy Class cabins. Yogyakarta, with Borobudur and Prambanan temples, is a centre for classical Javanese culture and fine art.
