Visitor arrivals up 22% in first 10 months

Visitor arrivals to Thailand reached 21.7 million in the first 10 months of this year, representing a 22.3 per cent increase from the same period last year.

According to Tourism andn Sports Ministry's data, by nationality, Chinese arrivals topped the list, followed by those from Malaysia, Russia, Japan, Korea, Laos, India, Australia, the UK and Singapore. Yet, in the period, arrivals from East Asia, Europe and the US showed the highest increase.
The data, reported to the Cabinet today, also showed that Thailand welcomed 2.065 million tourists in October alone, which rose 264,371 or 14.68 per cent from the same period last year.
The ministry attributed the increase to growing travelling demand across the globe as well as recognition in Thailand's diverse range of value-for-money tourism products and services as well as the Thai hospitality.
