Boonsak, Porntip for Super Series

Boonsak, Porntip for Super Series

Boonsak Ponsana and Porntip Buranaprasertsuk will lead the Thai challenge in the Super Series Finals in Kuala Lumpur from December 11 to 15.

The world No 7 Boonsak is No 5 in the Super Series Standings despite reaching the semi-finals at the Hong Kong Open last week which was the last of 12 Super Series tournaments that select the top eight from each category.
Porntip, who also made it to the semi-finals in Hong Kong, surged from sixth to fourth in the standings to become the only Thai woman to book a berth in the tournament. World No 2 and world champion Ratchanok had to settle for the 12th position after failing to produce solid results in the Shanghai and Hong Kong legs.
Thailand have only one pair in the women’s doubles with Duanganon Aroonkesorn and Kunchala Voravichitchaikul seizing the sixth spot in the standings.
Thailand’s Sudket Prapakamol and Saralee Thoungthongkam got a lucky entry into the mixed doubles event. Despite their ninth rank, the duo could get into the Finals as Indonesia are eligible to field only two teams though they have three mixed doubles pairs in the top eight.
