All grown up and ready to go

All grown up and ready to go

Three Academy Fantasia alumni put on a show next Saturday at Bangkok Convention Centre

Three youngsters from Season 8 of TV reality show “True Academy Fantasia” – Nonthanan “Kacha” Anchuleepradit, Sattapong “Tao” Phiangphor, and Watcharakan “Frame” Buaban – will be encouraging fans to relive the glory days of the band they formed during the show two years ago next weekend in “Kotara Lor” (“Damn Handsome”).
“I compare Frame to a colour that matches perfectly with Tao and myself. Fans of the show are used to seeing us together but we plan to offer them something completely new,” says Kacha, relaxing with Tao and Frame after a long rehearsal at Upbeat Studio.
“There’ll be more than just music to our show, though of course we’ll also be playing as a band,” Frame adds.
Fans of the three will already be aware of their talents, which include being able to play a range of musical instruments. When they play as a band, Kacha usually plays drums, Tao is on bass while Frame is in charge of rhythm and lead guitars. For this concert, though, Tao is switching to acoustic guitar.
“This show will be very different from the Tao-Kacha concerts. It will be more fun and there’ll be lots of laughter too,” says Kacha, who has just completed a tour to promote his new single, “Hai Chan Thon Ngao Dee Kwa Khao Mai Rak Ther”.
“We’ll be playing more as a band,” adds Tao, who is beginning to find fame in his acting career. “We didn’t play any instruments at our Tao-Kacha concerts except in the segments where Frame joined us as a guest.”
“And of usual, I’ll be the troublemaker at this concert,” laughs Frame, who is also promoting his latest single, “Na Derm”.
Apart for performing as a band, Kacha, Tao and Frame will also cover a range of poignant love songs as well as upbeat numbers that will have fans up on their feet and dancing. Another segment will be devoted to solos. “The song list has more than 20 numbers,” Kacha says.
“It will also include a part that will remind fans of what we did during the reality show. We’ve carefully selected songs that will make our fans happy and which also demonstrate how far we have developed as artists in the past two years,” Tao adds.
“Most of the songs that we will play as a band are rock covers of Thai and international artists. Fans will recognise them from the show though this time, we have rearranged them,” says Frame.
“We’ll be opening the show with the songs that we were assigned to cover during the reality show,” says Kacha. “I’ll also play the piano.”
Asked to define the “handsome” label in the concert title, Tao looks at his bandmates closely before saying, “Frame is kind of cheeky and Kacha is cute.”
“And Tao looks like an adult. He is very smart and gentle,” adds Kacha.
