World leaders should condemn violence against Thai protesters

Re: "US urges probe into attacks that killed Thai children", Politics, March 2.

US Secretary of State John Kerry’s denouncement of the “politically-motivated” attacks on peaceful protesters in Thailand reflects his strong moral values.
The political attacks have escalated to arbitrary bomb and shooting attacks on crowds. The results include the horrifying deaths of four small children.
Altogether, 23 people have died, and more than 700 have been injured during our latest crisis.
The US is obviously well aware of the situation, in which protesters who gathered peacefully to exercise their democratic rights have been treated with vicious, callous brutality.
Other world figures should come out in support of Kerry’s call. It might help prevent more unnecessary and horrifying loss of innocent lives here.
