TWZ eyes revenue surge after link-up with CTH

TWZ Corporation, a distributor of telecommunication equipment and devices, plans to boost revenue by pursuing a cable TV business after the entry of a new stakeholder, cable operator CTH.

TWZ hopes to attract a million subscribers in the first year, with its third-quarter revenue forecast to rise at least Bt15 million as a result.

Managing director Piyanuj Rungkasiri said TWZ and CTH joined forces to expand market coverage.

He said TWZ served as the distributor of CTH’s cable-TV packages and TV-signal equipment.

The targeted clients for the packages are their rivals’ customers, estimated at about 17 million households.

The million-subscriber target represents 6 per cent of the 17 million, of whom about 10 million watch English Premier League soccer matches, Piyanuj said.

He said the alliance with CTH amid the transition from analog to digital TV offered promising business opportunities, hence the projected increase in third-quarter revenue.

He said revenue contributors would be the distribution of CTH’s set-top boxes, the programme packages and the revenue-sharing agreement between the companies when clients buy additional packages.

TWZ also hopes to realise revenue this quarter from a property-development project under the management of its wholly owned subsidiary Piyachart Co.

The project is a Bt300-million, 25-unit office building located on almost 6,000 square metres of leased land.
