Thailand should condemn US authorities' brutality
Like many, I am concerned over the escalation of protests in Ferguson, Missouri, after the fatal shooting of an unarmed black teenager by a white policeman on August 9.
General Prayuth Chan-ocha should demand that the US government show restraint against the protesters. He should issue a statement saying, “We are concerned” … no, make it “We are deeply concerned at the arrest of some 50 innocent protesters, and fear for their safety.”
He should also warn US authorities over their racial discrimination and police brutality and make it clear to Obama that Thailand will not tolerate such practices.
