A walk on the wild side

Renowned fashion event, “Fashion Field Trip”, a collaboration of Thai fashion brands Asava, Issue, and Vickteerut, recently rocked Bangkok’s Grand Postal Building in Bang Rak with three high-quality shows that brought colour and creativity to the old-fashioned architecture.
Vickteerut presented its “A Class of Stereoscopy” collection for autumn and winter, demonstrating the art of combining classic taste with a three-dimensional perspective through outfits that maintained the brand’s grace and modern style, while adding a touch of classic uniform.
Asava combined contrasting Victorian and hip-hop styles in its “Harlem Rhapsody” collection in an ambience that recreated the streets of the New York area for which is was named. Boasting a touch of sportswear but maintaining the finesse and signature of Victorian tailoring such as ruffles and pleats, the showcase featured perfectly tailored track pants in the finest silk satin, lace sweatshirts resembling the American baseball uniform, and graffiti adorned fabric.
Issue, meanwhile, travelled back to the reign of King Rama V through the eyes of Russian ballet dancer Vaslav Nijinsky for its “Play” collection, offering outfits with the alluring mystery of the East and the classic luxury of the West. Patterns and colours swirled on the catwalk with spectators gasping in surprise at the exquisite signature embroidery and the print of two red swans on sporty jackets, cropped tops, dresses and accessories.
