Ch Karnchang sees backlog exceeding Bt100 bn

Ch Karnchang announced today the winning of its subsidiary CK Power's construction and engineering contract for the 120-megawatt Bang Pa-In Cogeneration Phase II (BIC-2).

The contract was signed today and the works are slated for completion in the next 29 months. The contract is valued at Bt4.31 billion.
According to Supamas Trivisvavet, managing director of CK Power, upon completion, BIC-2 should generate at least Bt3 billion in annual revenue. In the first nine months of this year, the company's revenue is well over Bt5 billion thanks mainly to a capacity increase at Nam Ngum 2 hydropower plant.
Ch Karnchang and CK Power is also looking for the possibility in investing in small power producers (SPPs_ at industrial estates, which will use alternative energy sources like wind and solar power. 
On December 23, CK Power will also award another contract worth Bt3.28 billion to Ch Karnchang, which will boost the construction company's backlog to over Bt100 billion at the end of this year.
