BJC claims Bt8 bn in jobs for next year

BJC claims Bt8 bn in jobs for next year

BJC Heavy Industries, which delivers steel fabrication on a made-to-order basis and installs industrial furnaces for manufacturing processes, says it has more than Bt8 billion worth of work lined up in 2015 as it prepares to increase its overseas presence

BJC managing director Young Jun Lee is confident that this year’s revenue will grow by at least 15 per cent as targeted.
Lee said the company had Bt4 billion in pending work that would become recognised revenue in 2014-15, and it would secure at least Bt4 billion in new contracted work in Australia and Brazil that would become recognised revenue next year.
He said BJC planned to pursue more overseas business opportunities via investments in large-scale industries so as to minimise risk through diversification while also expanding its customer base.
Lee said the company was also considering a new strategy to manage its foreign-exchange risk after the depreciation of the Australian dollar against the baht.
In the third quarter, BJC posted Bt1.23 billion in revenue – up 25.11 per cent on the quarter and up 36.67 per cent year on year, he said. Its net profit was Bt255.62 million – up 10.31 per cent quarter on quarter.
For the first nine months of the year, Lee said BJC had Bt3.07 billion in revenue from contracted work, up 2.25 per cent on the Bt3 billion in revenue earned in the same quarter last year.
