Myanmar businessman murder suspects nabbed in S'pore

Two suspected Gang 21 members allegedly involved in the November abduction and murder of a Myanmar businessman have been arrested in Singapore.

The men – one in his 20s and the other in his 30s – were picked up on Dec 3 in separate locations by Singapore police who acted on information from their Malaysian counterparts.
The mastermind of the alleged crime was arrested on November 20 at the Banting Hospital.
Police, Sentul OCPD Asst Comm R Munusamy said, were still trying to track down one more suspect.
On November 12, the 30-year-old businessman was abducted in Pusat Bandar Sentul Utara by armed men in full view of his family.
By Dec 1, police picked up the mastermind of the abduction who led officers to a forest near a sand factory in Bidor, Perak, where they found the remains of the businessman. The businessman neck was slashed.
ACP Munusamy said police believed the men killed the businessman in revenge for his involvement in the killing of a brother of one of the suspects last month.
There was an attempt on the businessman’s life about six months before the abduction, he said.
“We believe the businessman had drug dealings. He was not a gang member but he had gang affiliations,” ACP Munusamy added.
