AIT banks on partnerships for growth

ITS BUSINESS heavily reliant on government projects, leading ICT solutions provider Advanced Information Technology has high hopes of further growth through a new partnership strategy. "Having this strategy, AIT targets achieving an ambitious goal of Bt

Siripong revealed his vision at a press conference to announce the information and communications technology company’s new strategic partners – NetApp, VMware and F5 Networks.
These business partners will help the company penetrate the corporate market for cloud and virtualisation solution services.
He acknowledged that the goal of Bt10 billion in annual revenue within three years was a challenging one for his company, which is listed in the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
Almost 90 per cent of its income currently comes from projects by two state-run enterprises, TOT and CAT Telecom.
Cloud and virtualisation solutions assist companies in managing their increasing data volume and improving their system security and safety, he said, explaining that with the IT solutions provided by the three business partners, AIT’s corporate clients would be able to ensure greater efficiency in utilisation of their hardware and software.
Weera Areerattanasak, country manager of NetApp Thailand, said today’s companies had to prepare themselves for a huge increase in data volume, with average growth as much as 40 per cent per annum, in his experience.
“I want to see an increase of between 10 and 15 per cent to Bt6.8 billion in revenue [this year], from last year’s Bt6.2 billion, after entering into the partnership with these three IT solution providers," Siripon added.
AIT has also formed a joint venture, named SLA Asia, with another two leading IT solution providers – Samart Corp and Loxley – to run an IT project for a land-allocation authority in Laos.
The Bt200-million project involves the provision of hardware, software and integration solutions.
In 2012, AIT and Loxley formed a joint venture called LAH, for the design and installation of a telecommunications network system in Myanmar.
LAH is also expected to invest in a submarine cable project.
