Yamazato, the Japanese restaurant at The Okura Prestige Bangkok, marks the Tanabata Festival – one of Asia’s most romantic tales – with a new Gozen set lunch (Bt850) and a seven-course set Kaiseki dinner from June 29 to July 12. Tanabata Festival, also known as the “Star Festival of the Weaver”, celebrates a Japanese love story about the weaving princess Orihime and her love for Hikoboshi. Hangzhou-Bangkok service launched
Air China, one of the major airlines of the People's Republic of China, recently launched a new Hangzhou-Bangkok route, bridging China’s east coast with the Thai capital. There are three flights a week – on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday – with the flight departing Hangzhou at 10.40pm (Beijing time) and arriving in Bangkok at 2.10am local time. The red-eye flight leaves Bangkok at 3.20am and lands at Hangzhou at 8.20am Beijing time. About 11,000 Chinese, from Hangzhou alone, visited Thailand between January and October 2014.
