Indy barista contest organised
The Aroma Group, Mitr Phol and Thai Coffee and Tea have joined True Visions in organising the 7th Thailand Indy Barista Championship to find the best coffee maker in Thailand.
Kijja Wongvaree, executive director of Aroma Group, a leading coffee firm, and Shahkrit Yamnam, actor and TV host, recently held a press conference to announce the contest.
The first heats covering the central provinces were held at Bitec Bangna over the weekend.
Three more rounds will be held in Phitsanulok, Surat Thani and Khon Kaen on July 24-26, August 21-23 and September 18-20 respectively for the short-listed candidates from each region.
The 12 finalists will take part in the “Champ of the Champ” round in Bangkok in October.
The winning baristas will receive rewards worth more than Bt600,000 granted by Her Royal Highness Princess Bhajara Kittiyabha.
