Three Thai designers come up with some funky images for Uniqlo's new T-shirt collection

THREE WELL-KNOWN Thai designers – calligrapher Santi Lawrachawee of Practical Design Studio, cartoonist and Mamuang Chan creator Wisut Ponnimit, and illustrator Thatchamaphan “Pomme Chan” Chanchamrassang – recently joined their peers from the Philippines and Malaysia in coming up with some fun deigns for Uniqlo’s latest UT T-shirt collection.
Based on Uniqlo’s LifeWear concept, which combines soft and snug fabric with designs that fit every lifestyle and occasion, all eight Southeast Asian designers have translated their talents and distinctive visual trademarks into the collection’s 29 tees.
Santi’s graphical structures and lines reflect Thai society and culture through calligraphy and imagery, while retaining Uniqlo’s stylish simplicity by blending the standout qualities of both the designer and the brand.
Wisut, whose drawings of a little girl and her dog have become popular all over the region, brings both characters to his collection and they are reproduced in a harmonious blast of colours guaranteed to delight wearers of any age.
For her part, illustrator Thatchamaphan, who is better known under the name Pomme Chan, has come up with colourful drawings of flowers in a multitude of colours. Fun to wear and exuding a sense of femininity as well as LifeWear-style simplicity, her trademark lines and colours are bound to delight fashionistas with the possibility of more artful looks.
The fashionable tees are now available at all branches of Uniqlo and come in both child and adult sizes.
