GrabTaxi spreads its wings with GrabBike, an on-demand motorbike service in Bangkok that’s offering a Bt35 flat rate until end of this month. Bangkok is the fourth city in Southeast Asia to enjoy the two-wheeled taxi-booking service after successful launches in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta. Like GrabTaxi, GrabBike is an automated location based smartphone booking and dispatch platform that aims to revolutionise the “motorcycle taxi in the soi”. 
 
Dusit Princess for Cebu
A new Dusit Princess hotel is scheduled to open in 2018 at Cebu, the Philippines, the group’s second property in the country after the Dusit Thani Manila. Located on the upbeat side of the North Reclamation area of Metro Cebu, the high-rise Dusit Princess Cebu will offer 295 guestrooms with views of the city and the ocean. Facilities will include restaurants, meeting rooms, a gym and swimming pools. Part of a mixed-use development, there will also be a number of retail outlets, offices and apartments complementing the hotel. Billed as “Queen City of the South”, Cebu is a popular beach destination. 
 
Indigo Pearl welcomes new F&B manager
Indigo Pearl Resort, Phuket recently welcomed Frenchman Yann Hervy as its new food and beverage director. Fluent in English, Hervy has 15 years of experience in leading hotels and restaurants across the world and joins the hotel from the Anantara Phuket Layan Resort and Spa where he oversaw food and beverage operations of the 30 rooms and suites and 47 pool villas. He will oversee F&B operations across Indigo Pearl’s six outlets: Tin Mine, Rivet, Rebar, Black Ginger, Underground Cafe and Tongkah Tin Syndicate. 
 
Krabi goes Express
Holiday Inn Express Krabi Ao Nang Beach will add 222 guestrooms to Krabi’s famous beach destination in 2017. The hotel will be located a short walk away from the beach, and not far from the existing Holiday Inn Resort Krabi Ao Nang Beach. It will feature free Wi-Fi access, a self-service business centre and laundry room and 24-hour access to the fitness centre. “Thailand’s tourism industry is witnessing strong growth and we are seeing beach destinations such as Krabi gaining popularity amongst travellers seeking a relaxing retreat away from the hustle of the city,” noted Leanne Harwood, IHG’s Vice President for Southeast Asia.
