Expressions freely flowing at Thai Short

EXPRESS PACKAGES of shorts from Singapore plus broadly appealing International Competition entries are on tap today at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre as the 19th Thai Short Film and Video Festival rolls into its final weekend.

Tomorrow, you have to make the tough choice to see the finalist Thai entries in the top-tier RD Pestonji Award competition (named for Thailand’s first auteur) and International Competition programmes in the fifth-floor auditorium, or all the S-Express entries in one go in the fourth-floor screening room.
The fest wraps up on Sunday, which starts with a morning block of Thai animation, all competing for the Payut Ngaokrachang Award, named after Thailand’s pioneering animator.
Admission is free. Screenings start at 5.30pm today and at 11am tomorrow and Sunday. For more details, check www.Facebook.com/|ThaiShortFilmVideoFestival.

And next Thursday is a special event, a best-of selection from last year’s Shnit International Short Film Festival, in a run-up to this year’s event, which is set for October 7 to 18. Shows are at 8pm. For more details, check FGC.in.th.
