US Ambassador visit Rakhine
US Ambassador Derek Mitchell, joined by USAID Mission Director Chris Milligan, visited Sittwe and Mrauk-U on August 19-21, to witness flood damage.
The ambassador said the US is assisting affected communities’ recovery efforts. It will continue to work with partners to determine how to support recovery for the entire country.
The US government is providing over US$4.5 million in flood relief and recovery assistance.
