BASF opens representative office in Yangon

BASF has opened a representative office in Yangon, to support its growing base of local customers and cater to an increasing demand for high quality and sustainable chemical products and solutions in the country.

The Yangon office brings BASF closer to local customers in agriculture, construction, mining and manufacturing sectors.
BASF aims to support Myanmar in managing the challenges associated with rapid development and urbanization.
“Many of Myanmar’s most promising industries depend on chemistry to realise their full potential. BASF offers solutions that can help produce better yields in agriculture, affordable higher-quality buildings, clean water and better nutrition, and more sustainable manufacturing and mining. With a representative office in Myanmar, we can support our customers directly as they expand and develop their businesses,” said Boonchai Opas-iam-likit, group managing director of Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar.
Through distributors, BASF has been offering solutions to Myanmar customers for the past five years, including vitamins for food fortification, concrete admixtures, crop protection ingredients such as herbicides and pesticides, mining chemicals, and water purification chemicals.
