Ambitious natural-product manufacturer targets bigger presence in AEC

UNIQUE Green Co Ltd, a manufacturer of personal-care and household products made from natural ingredients, is speeding up its product development and expansion to meet demand from health-conscious consumers, while expanding its regional presence in the up

Starting from the family experience of allergies, and building a totally-naturally-made products business, Unique Green became the first such producer to be granted a licence by the country’s Food and Drug Administration, with green-label accreditation for its Boom Green prototype.
It has also received two certifications from Bioagricert, a European institution: Bioagricert for Cosmetics and Bioagricert for Detergent.
Marketing director Benyapa Deewongkij said the company would develop and manufacture more new products through its four popular brands: Doulare cleaning products for mothers, babies and kids; Derma Juize skincare products; Herbo Clean for clothes and household items; and Puppy Play cleaning products for pets.
The four brands were first marketed in the second quarter of last year.
The company is also expanding its distribution channels both locally and overseas, particularly in China, Hong Kong and AEC member countries, with the current focus on Malaysia and Singapore.
Multi Green Co Ltd, one of Unique Green’s associate companies, is an authorised distributor.
Unique Green aims to expand its product footprint into three or four more countries within the next three to five years, she said.
The company expects overall revenue to grow by between 200 per cent and 300 per cent this year.
After testing Unique Green products for quality and health results, Sirichai Lertsirimit, managing director of Multi Green, said the company participated in the marketing and branding of each group of natural products, so that the fact that they are locally made from Thai wisdom is well perceived both domestically and in overseas markets.
“Thais are now increasingly health conscious for themselves, their families and their pets. Naturally made products for use and consumption have become a very popular trend in the global and domestic markets,” Benyapa said.
Given Thai people’s rising awareness of the potential dangers of chemicals to health and the environment, Unique Green products are managing to capture a more important role in markets, she added.
In the wake of increased popularity and higher demand for health-conscious products, more companies have begun to offer these kinds of products.
“Although we have more competitors, consumers have more choice. This [added competition] has not affected us, as we are distinctively differentiated from general products,” said the marketing director.
Aside from the purpose of providing thorough cleaning, the company’s chemical-free products – which are made of fruit and vegetable juice and selected herbs – are beneficial to people with allergies, she added.
