Ethnic police strength will be reinforced to protect Rakhine State against enemies. The police force is the second defensive wall after the army. They must serve as the police members at the police battalions and frontier forces,&rdquo; said Police Col Nay Myo from the Rakhine State Police Force.</div>

	New ethnic-minority police members are taking courses on policing and combat starting on December 7.</div>

	&ldquo;We, Rakhine ethnics, entered the police force to participate in the protection of the Rakhine State. &nbsp;We also want to serve as a police officers in regional security affairs. We would like to protect our land against insurgents after taking part in whatever duties we are assigned,&rdquo; said one trainee.</div>

Jobless youth to join Rakhine police force

SITTWE - More than 150 jobless ethnic men will be recruited and trained as security personnel under a programme by the Frontier Force and regional police force in Rakhine State.
