39,125 orders placed at Motor Expo

A number of 39,125 orders were placed at International Motor Expo 2015, 26.2 per cent below the 53,000 target.

The number of orders was also 7.4 per cent below the figures recorded last year.
The 13-day show which was wrapped up yesterday welcomed 1.48 million, down by 6.7 per cent from 1.38 million last year. 
The orders were worth totally Bt50 billion. The value of vehicles sold at the expo is worth Bt1.146 million on average, close to Bt1.141 million in last year's event. 
Show organiser Kwanchai Paphatphong announced at the start that as many as 53,000 orders were expected to be placed.
Among all brands, Toyota welcomed 5,975 orders, trailed behind by Honda (4,864), Mazda (4,542), Isuzu (4,348) and Mitsubishi (3,617).
Of total orders, passenger cars accounted for 46.2 per cent. sort-utility vehicles took up 30.9 per cent and one-tonne pickups 19.1 per cent. 
The hottest models in the event were Honda City, Mazda2, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Ford Ranger and Isuzu D-Max.
In last year's event, Mazda sold only 2,525 vehicles. In the first 11 months of this year, Mazda sold 33,838 vehicles, an increase by 7 per cent from the same period last year.
