Exim bank looks for president

Exim bank looks for president

THE EXPORT-Import Bank of Thailand is seeking a candidate to take up the position of president at the bank, said chairman Manas Jamveha.

He said the bank this year would take advantage of its position as a specialised financial institution (SFI) to cooperate with both the public and private sectors to drive Thailand’s export growth and overall sustainable development. In the short term, Exim Thailand will accelerate its support for small and medium-sized enterprises to gain better access to funding sources, helping them to start up or expand their international businesses.
In the longer term, it will enhance collaboration with other agencies to build up the strength of those industrial sectors with good prospects, such as digital, biofuel, biochemical, logistics, and fully integrated medical services.
Moreover, emphasis will be placed on other government-promoted investment areas such as special economic development zones in the border areas and other economic zones for specific business clusters, as well as private-sector investments in state-owned projects.
Manas said Exim Thailand was recruiting candidates for its president.
Applicants will be required to demonstrate their vision and strategic thinking on how the bank could adopt a proactive role in complementing the government’s economic and fiscal engine, achieving the above goals and missions, enhancing the bank’s corporate governance instrumental to its sustainable growth and stability, promoting its stance as a reliable business partner for the private sector, and increasing global recognition of Thai products and services.
The tenure of the presidency is four years. Between today and January 29, the bank’s president selection committee chaired by Vichate Tantiwanich, a director, will recruit a candidate with appropriate qualifications for the position.
Those interested can obtain an application form at Exim Thailand’s Office of Top Management, 18th floor, Exim Building, or download the form from www.exim.go.th.
