Police United to loan out their players

Police United to loan out their players

The president of troubled club Police United, Pol Gen Worapong Chewprecha, has decided to allow his players to leave on loan after the side had its license suspended for a year due to its financial difficulties.

Police United had won back promotion to the Thai Premier League as the League One champions after spending a season in the second-tier division but the cash-strapped club were denied their TPL spot for failing to fulfil the financial requirements.
Reports earlier suggested the club would appeal against the decision but Worapong said yesterday that the club accepted the one-year suspension meted out to them by Thai Premier League board on Monday.
“We accepted the TPL ruling and would not make any appeal. Regarding the players, if anyone wants to leave, we’re ready to open negotiation with other clubs.
“However, there are several of them, who want to stay at the club such as captain and striker Suchart Saleepim. So, we’ll allow them to leave on loan and would not deny them a chance [to play].”
After calling a meeting to discuss the club’s contingency plan, Worapong said Police United would try to find new investors before they resume playing next year.
“We’ll return to play in League One after the suspension expires. In between, we’ll try to find new sponsors as soon as possible. A French group had decided to pull out of the deal to support the team due to the uncertainty surrounding the club’s future,” said the Police United president.
