KBank offers customers incentives to save water

KASIKORNBANK is pitching the “KBank Joining Hands to Combat Drought” campaign, offering customers who save water an exemption from paying water bill fees for the rest of this year.

Noppawan Jermhansa, executive vice president, said yesterday that under the scheme, KBank would offer incentives to customers to save water with the “Reduce Water Use, Receive Fee Waiver” promotion.
Customers consuming less water from April-July and paying their water bill through the bank’s ATMs or mobile banking service will be eligible for two benefits.
They will get a Bt10-per-month refund of water bill payment fees and those who can reduce water use during this period for at least three months will also be given an exemption from water bill payment fees for the rest of the year.
Customers participating in this promotion could see refunds of up to Bt90 through both benefits, which will be credited to their accounts by August 15.
Information on conserving water, including K-Expert’s water-efficiency tips, is being provided through the bank’s many social media channels and ATMs nationwide.
Adit Laixuthai, senior executive vice president, said that operating under the KBank Sustainable Development Policy, the bank is aware that the drought is an environmental threat severely affecting people’s quality of life and overall economic conditions.
The bank has stressed responsible water utilisation and has organised the “KBank Joining Hands to Combat Drought” initiative with two activities – reducing its own water consumption and promoting water conservation among the public.
Under the bank’s strategy, plans and guidance for greater water efficiency have been established for all of its buildings including the head office, other main buildings and 1,120 branches nationwide.
The bank’s new buildings have been designed with a focus on green water and power solutions, allowing its properties to consume 28 per cent less water than the industrial standard.
However, four “Re” measures are being employed to make better use of water amid the drought – fixing |water leaks (repair), adjusting |water valves for slower flows (re-setting), reducing vehicle cleaning and garden watering frequency (re-scheduling) and encouraging staff to get into the habit of saving water (re-thinking).
KBank aims to reduce its water consumption from April-June by 10-15 per cent from the same period last year, which will make its water consumption 30 per cent below the industrial standard.
To encourage prudent water use among consumers, KBank will present beneficial knowledge via all of its service channels for their understanding, with incentives for water footprint reduction.
