True Corp in major rejig of management

True Corp group has undertaken a major management restructuring to pave the way for chief executive officer Suphachai Chearavanont to dedicate more time to managing the company’s major shareholder Charoen Pokphand Group (CP) and devising True’s strategies

“The change is also to strengthen True Group in order to deal with the intensifying competition,” Suphachai said yesterday.
He denied that the move was to prepare him to head CP. Suphachai said that as he also served as CP vice chairman, he needed to dedicate more time to CP.
True made an internal announcement of the new management structure on Wednesday, effective immediately.
Under the new structure, Noppadol Dej-udom has been promoted to deputy CEO from the post of group chief financial officer, while Vichaow Rakphongphairoj has been promoted to deputy CEO after serving as group chief operating officer for network quality and operations.
The deputy-CEO posts are newly created for Noppadol and Vichaow in order to reduce the workload on Suphachai.
Noppadol will oversee the group’s brand, innovation and sustainable development, while Vichaow will focus on procurement, quality control and regulatory affairs.
William Harris has been promoted to group chief financial officer. He was executive director of international business development and assistant to the CEO.
Adhiruth Thothaveesansuk has been appointed group chief operating officer in charge of the group operations and sales. His other posts group chief information officer for True, group managing director for regional management and group executive director.
Kittinut Tikawan is the new group chief commercial officer overseeing marketing for True Move H, TrueVisions and the group’s online business. Prior to this posting, he was True’s head of commercial and business development for mobile.

Suphachai said True targeted a total of 6 million and 7 million 4G customers in its fourth-generation network by the end of this year, up from 4 million last year.
Total Access Communication aims to have 6 million 4G users by the end of 2016, up from 3.1 million at present.
