PM should discipline troops over death of private
Three chaiyos for 25-year-old Naritsarawan Kaewnop-part, playing David vs Goliath in green, who’s petitioned PM Prayut to suspend Maj Phuri Perksopon, who allegedly led six green shirts in beating her uncle, Pvt Wichian Puaksom, to death in 2011.
The Army has paid ‘blood money’ but refuses to
discipline those guilty of killing Wichian.
If Prayut does, indeed, suspend Phuri and disciplines the killers, it would be a major victory not only for “David” in this case but also for the rule of law, for the green shirts accountable for the deaths at Krue Se (32 bodies), Tak Bai (73 bodies) and Nong Chik (4 bodies) have yet to be charged.
What say you, Prayut? At the height of your support, surely now is the time to strike a blow for the rule of law.
