Luxury in every corner

Luxury in every corner

Thai brand Disaya branches out to offer a great selection of home decor items and accessories from popular international labels

KNOWN as a pioneer in Bangkok’s fashion scene, Thai luxury boutique Disaya is going more playful with the opening of its latest branch, inviting fans to enjoy pairing Disaya’s own collections with a range of trendy imported accessories.
Creative director Disaya Sorakraikitikul set up her brand back in 2005. It’s now operated by A-List Corporate, the company her spouse Danai set up to |distribute such leading fashion brands as Jimmy Choo, Valentino and Leica Camera.
The new outlet, which opened early this month, occupies 120 square metres on the first floor of CentralWorld and features a luxury industrial design created by veteran architect Duangrit Bunnag.
The boutique is divided into two zones, the first displaying the latest Disaya designs and the second stationery and home decor items by popular international brands.
“We want to be a one-stop shopping store, where a woman can complete her look while her man shops for something smart and stylish,” says public relations manager Poln Sritham.
“This is the first branch to combine Disaya’s designs with lifestyle products from popular foreign brands. We want to promote the ‘Disaya Culture’, which is all about lifestyle.”
In the boutique section, Disaya welcomes the cool season with fashionable outfits inspired by William Morris’s gorgeous artworks and African tribal culture. Graphic designs celebrating Mother Nature are created through a new printing technique that produces virtual three-dimensional patterns on layered fabric.
This season, Disaya plays with a palette of dark navy, Sauvignon maroon, brown, yellow, white and blush pink. Highlights include the Morris Reprise long-sleeved dress adorned with medieval lace and the Morris Refine printed dress with monochrome floral embroidery on a plain textile, The Morris Remix day dress showcases the techno-couture 3D printing technique through eye-catching motifs of wild creatures and plant camouflage. A handcrafted draped silk dress is decorated with lace and crystals, while an African tribal-style lace slip-on can double as a nightgown and coat. The brand’s signature fit-and-flare cocktail dresses are offered in different floral designs.
The Disaya Culture zone is home to a dozen brands from Europe, the US, Australia and South Korea offering everything from funky vintage-inspired sunglasses by Gentle Monster and Garrett Leight. Chiara Ferragni has embroidered high heels and leather sneakers while Rocking and Cleo offer an interesting line in scarves.
Tom Dixon has decor items for the home, Slone Stationery boasts
notebooks with cool messages, Dr Vranjes has aromatic home diffusers and sprays and Hermes offers an 11-gear sports bike.
“We plan to revive our branches at EmQuartier, Central Embassy and Siam Paragon in the future too,” Poln says.
