NEW HEAD OF CREDIT SUISSE WEALTH MANAGEMENT

Credit Suisse yesterday announced the appointment of Thippa Praneeprachachon as head of its wealth-management service in Thailand.

Thippa is a veteran in the wealth-management industry in Asia, with more than 30 years’ experience covering the Thailand market. 
She joins Credit Suisse from EFG Bank Singapore, where she was the senior client relationship officer for more than 10 years. In this role, she was also responsible for setting up the bank’s local investment advisory operations in Thailand. 
 
REDESIGNED AIRPORT LINK CARRIAGES 
Airport Rail Link yesterday morning inaugurated the first of four revamped three-carriage Express Line trains, boasting a new interior design providing extra space to carry more passengers.
This is part of the project shifting the Express Line’s trains to the City Line in order to serve more passengers. If the interior renovation of the remaining nine carriages of the other three Express Line trains is complete by the end of this year as planned, the four trains will have the capacity to carry an extra 10,500 persons day, for a total of 72,000. 
Apart from new seats, the redesigned carriages have more handrails and grab handles.
 
NS BLUESCOPE EXPANDS CAPACITY
NS BlueScope (Thailand), a manufacturer of steel building solutions, yesterday officially announced its plan to establish a third metallic-coating line and expand its production capacity at Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate in Rayong.
Somkiat Pintatham, country president of NS BlueScope (Thailand), manufacturer and distributor of metallic-coated and pre-painted steel products under the BlueScope brand, said the company’s board had approved the construction of a new metallic-coating line with investment value of about Bt4.5 billion. 
This expansion will increase BlueScope’s annual production capacity by 140,000 tonnes to a total of more than 500,000 tonnes per year. Construction will begin this month and is expected to be in operation from July 2018 onwards. 
 
TOP 10 EMPLOYERS NAMED 
Four of the top 10 companies Thai employees aspire to work for are home-grown and local firms also take the top two places, according to the 2016 “Top Companies Report” released by jobsDB.
PTT is the most desired employer in the country, followed by business conglomerate Siam Cement Group. 
A total of 446 jobsDB members participated in a series of surveys that ran from May to June, with respondents from different positions and representing a diverse mix of specialisations.
Completing the top three of Thai job seekers’ most preferred employers is Toyota. Top international search engine Google is in fourth position, while Honda Thailand was voted the fifth most preferred employer in the country. Taking sixth spot is Advanced Info Service, the country’s largest mobile-phone service provider.
Unilever clinched seventh place. Chevron, a global integrated energy company, takes eighth place among Thailand’s 10 most preferred employers. Taking ninth place is Total Access Communication (DTAC). Completing the top 10 is Nestle.
