Thailand Smart Trade Centre set to start up in Guangdong, China

THAILAND SMART Trade Centre (TSTC) in China’s Guangdong province aims to help at least 200 Thai small and medium-sized enterprises market their products at the centre, which will be opened early next year.

Yongkit Thamphatanaporn, executive director of the TSTC, said the centre had strong potential to help distribute Thai goods in the Chinese market, as Guangdong is a business centre in southern China.
The TSTC is in the city of Foshan and covers 3,000 square metres. Foshan is only an hour away from Guangzhou, the provincial capital and Guangdong’s largest city.
To increase opportunities for Thai enterprises, the centre plans to help them network with Chinese enterprises from 15 provinces next year.
Yongkit said there was a lot of opportunity for Thai products to make inroads in China as Thai goods are known as quality products. Having a booth in the TSTC will give SMEs the chance to meet with local traders and sell their products through online and offline channels.
The TSTC will provide assistance and consultant services on legal issues, communication, and financial transactions for Thai enterprises.
Thai products that have good sales potential at the centre include consumer goods, snacks, housewares and home decorative items.
