Local Dell, EMC units to be ‘full team’ in Feb

Anothai Wettayakorn, Dell EMC Thailand's managing director and Dell EMC vice president for Indochina, assured that customers of both Dell and EMC would not be affected by changes resulting from the merger.
He said the two systems were running in parallel during the transitional period.
“This is to ensure smooth and uninterrupted business for our customers,” he said, adding that necessary changes and adjustments would be done during this period.
The transitional period starts in October and ends next January, and both Thai units will become a “completely full team” in early February, according to Anothai.
Anothai was speaking to The Nation during the 2016 Dell EMC World event organised last week (October 18-20) in Austin, Texas.
He took part in the annual event as a representative of Dell EMC from Thailand and Indochina. Joining him at Dell EMC World were the company's key customers from Thailand and Indochinese countries.
Current customers of both EMC and Dell can still continue doing their business and writing orders with the respective Thai units. During the transition, both Thai units are working independently over sales and after-sale services although they have started collaborating by “cross-selling” products from both companies.
“In February next year, both teams will be fully integrated. And there will be only one channel for the customers,” Anothai said. “The customers do not have to worry. There is synergy between both teams,” he added.
Anothai also stressed the need for businesses to undergo a digital transformation in order to boost their chances of survival in this age of digital economy. He said the transformation needed to be in terms of information technology and workforce in preparation for changes that were unavoidable.
