Bags that spell elegance and class

Bags that spell elegance and class

Local fashion brand Phya releases its first collection of up market totes

EXPERIENCED investment banker turned designer, Jirayong Anuman-Rajadhon has put the world of high-finance behind her and today is indulging her passion for fashion and intricate craftsmanship through Phya, a modern handbag brand with an elegant and luxurious flair.
Inspired by an ancient aristocrat title, the brand connotes excellence, bravery and exceptional strength, which are underscored in its symbol – the word “Phya” woven within a hexagon, assimilating a bee hive where the queen is at the zenith and deserves only the best.
Growing up in a family of intellectuals nurtured Jirayong’s life-long love for learning and she has brought her constant thirst for knowledge and perfection to Phya, seeking out the best Italian craftsmen and premium materials and transforming them into accessories that are practical for daily use and make a stylish and sophisticated statement about the user.
The new flagship store at Gaysorn Plaza showcases handbags in various styles and lines that stem from a deep understanding of the classic aesthetic.
Phya’s bags are masterpieces of natural prints that are soft to the touch but also durable and practical. Their core value is expressed through such premium materials as vegetable-tanned cowhide from Italy, quilt-printed nappa leather – Phya’s signature – as well as high value exotic animal skins such as crocodile and ostrich.
Hardware accents not only create a unique aesthetic but also render subtle user-friendliness. The handles are fitted ergonomically for better grasp. Metal studs at the bottom prop up the bags and protect them from scratches. Elegant chain straps from Italy give off a leading lady vibe while the smooth, plain leather is artfully quilted to create a mesmerising texture.
Designed specifically for the modern working woman who wants a bag she can use for every occasion, they come in a classic colour palette that includes burgundy red, charcoal black, royal blue and beige.
The debut collection come in six series; Prose, Poetry, Verse, Novella, Monologue and Fictions, inspired by great literature and stylish, successful leaders. Prose professes excellence of style with Queen, an oversized, trapezoid-shaped black crocodile skin bag that is luxuriously designed with those user-friendly handles and bottom studs.
Poetry flows and dances with shoulder and medium-sized bags that are not only practical but also stylish.
Diana sports an elegant burgundy red or charcoal black leather skin with metal chains, while Olivia comes in black and royal blue. Verse serenades with a shoulder bag with sparkling metal chains. Glen, a crocodile-skin shoulder bag with metal chains, comes in black, burgundy and royal blue with hexagon lock, and Adele shines with a metal chain shoulder strap and metallic zipper detail.
Novella has compact clutch bags and pouches. Crocodile skin Kate comes with a hexagon lock while May entices with its clutch size and quilted black leather. Pouch bag Irish, plays with texture using a hexagon-shaped quilt pattern, and Bella, a mini series of quilted clutch bags, come with metal chains and zippers.
Monologue offers multi-purpose functions and ample storage room, all in understated, elegant designs. These are Air, a black cowhide tote; Beary cowhide tote with cow hair details and Duo, a two-tone tote in caramel and charcoal.
“Fictions” narrates the story of imagination in bags that can be used in more than one way. The series includes Angela, a cow hair messenger bag; Catherine, a cow hair bag with handle and shoulder strap and Danielle, a square-shaped pouch with half-hexagon quilt pattern.
