Rooster starts the year at Starbucks
The coffeeshop chain's gone Lunar with cool new mugs, a water bottle and a chickie bank
WITH CHINESE NEW YEAR coming up on January 28, you might as well start pumping for prosperity. “Fortunately” (pun intended), Starbucks has a line of collectible decorated mugs in all the auspicious colours ready for the Year of the Rooster.
The primary palette is red and gold for the collection, although the Gradient Twist tumbler adds a splash of orange and the Rooster tumbler mixes purple into its gold graphic. The vintage-looking Rooster water bottle complete with a silicone strap bears a golden chicken motif.
There are also Rooster ceramic mugs and a rooster-shaped piggy bank.
All the new drinking utensils arrive just in time to enjoy recent additions among the beverages.
You can now enjoy a Salted Caramel Mocha Crumble, made with mocha syrup, toffee-nut syrup, espresso and milk and topped with whipped cream, a drizzle of caramel and chunks of chocolate brownie. The “salted” part comes from smoked French sea-salt, while Hawaiian cane sugar boosts the sweetness.
Chestnut White Chocolate Truffle has returned by popular demand, a delightful combination of creamy white chocolate sauce and Starbucks’ signature espresso, finished with whipped cream and a sweet, aromatic chestnut drizzle.
Both the gift collection and these drinks are available until February 27.
