Mushroom’s SME programme crosses the borders

MUSHROOM Television Co is taking its hit SME programme “Young Self-Made Millionaire”, which has been airing on MCOT for five years, to Laos next month, and to Vietnam and Cambodia in March.

“We expect the expansion will help our growth to reach 10 per cent this year,” chief executive officer Akarat Nitibhon said yesterday.
The producer of TV content for more than 10 years yesterday signed a five-year contract with Life TV Co, a Vietnam-based production house for television and online content, to broadcast the TV programme in Vietnam.
“Young Self-Made Millionaire” has won the hearts of start-up types by presenting creative and strategic thinking, and has received outstanding feedback from small and medium-sized enterprises, he |said.
The TV programme will also respond to the government’s interest in developing and expanding a business in every way to make a stable economy in this region, he said.
“Young Self-Made Millionaire” was created to inspire entrepreneurs, especially SMEs.
“Our success can be noticed by positive feedback from sponsors, especially banks, which are financial supporters of SMEs,” he said.
In Thailand, where it comes on at 3.30pm every Sunday, |the programme is one of the leading business programmes to present successful entrepreneurs to inspire newbies to |network and educate themselves about business subjects.
“We set a target of Bt300 million in revenue this year, up from Bt210 million posted last year,” Akarat said.
“The Thai SME business group has nurtured many young entrepreneurs. They would like to expand to many markets in Asean.
“The Asean market is also a strategic target of the Thai government, and they hope such expansion will lead to expanded trade cooperation and strengthen the economic ties in the region,” he said.
With the showing of “Young Self-Made Millionaire” in many neighbouring countries, young entrepreneurs in those places will be able to create a network of partners, as well as develop and exchange their knowledge, he said.
The TV programme will also lead to other collaborations and development in partnership with local entrepreneurs in the CLMVT (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand) market.
The activities include providing and cooperating in the development of business knowledge in the form of short seminars that emphasise doing business, in media production to give media solution services to young entrepreneurs and in marketing solutions for young entrepreneurs in CLMVT countries.
