Chevron, Honda aid flood victims

Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production recently donated 136,800 bottles of clean drinking water, worth more than Bt500,000, to 10 government agencies in Nakhon Si Thammarat province in order to assist flood victims in the vicinity of Chevron Aviation Base.

The bottled water was distributed with support from the 41st Military Circle, Nakhon Si Thammarat province, which provided vehicles and manpower.
Chevron Thailand said it was aware of the severe flooding in many areas across the Southern region of Thailand and had provided assistance to help flood-relief efforts. Last month, Chevron donated 146,334 bottles of drinking water to aid flood victims in four flood-hit provinces, namely Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla and Chumphon. During the current flood crisis in the South, Chevron has so far supported flood relief worth more than Bt1.5 million.
Meanwhile, the Honda Khiang Khang Thai Fund, under the Honda Thailand Foundation, donated money and high-pressure washers valued at Bt30 million in total for those who suffered from floods in 12 southern provinces.
Pitak Pruittisarikorn, managing director of the HKKT Fund, said the fund had donated Bt10 million and 700 high-pressure washers worth Bt20 million.
“This reflects our mission in sending immediate help for those who have suffered in the South. The high-pressure washers will be especially beneficial in removing dirt and cleaning homes and offices in the affected areas.”
