Thailand Tourism Festival is back at Bangkok’s Lumpini Park today with a series of cultural shows and tourism promotions that continue until Sunday. The highlight is “The Villages of Five Regions” featuring the best and finest things from different parts of Thailand. In the Northern Village, for example, visitors will be impressed by colourful parasols and lanterns. This annual tourism event also celebrates Thailand’s ethnic diversity with Akha, Lahu, Mong, Karen and other hilltribes showing off their pride and authenticity through food, dance and cultural performances.

EDM is the name of the game at the upcoming Mystic Valley Festival running from February 3-5 at Mountain Creek in Khao Yai, Nakhon Ratchasima. The music festival promises partygoers plenty of fun with Trance, Techno, House, Drum & Bass, Trap and Nu Disco sounds from more than 50 international and 70 local artists on eight stages, among them Fedde Le Grand, Sander van Doorn and Bassjackers. Tickets for the 3-day, 3-night extravaganza are Bt2,990 and Bt5,490 (VIP). There’s also a pool party facility and a secret stage at an undisclosed location.

American jazz vocalist Coco begins a residency at The Sukhothai Bangkok from tomorrow, performing every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8pm backed by a Filipino trio. Fans of the hotel’s Sunday Brunch will also be able to enjoy her soulful sounds.

Keep the kids happy with a full range of indoor and outdoor experiences at Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf and Spa Resort. Every Thursday from 4 to 5pm in Maya Garden, the resort provides an activity-filled Floating Castle featuring everything from sand and batik painting to colouring plaster dolls. The activities, with ice cream, snack and refreshments, cost Bt350 per person. Nestled along a peaceful beach, Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra is a luxury resort with a beautiful lagoon-like pool.
